I happened upon Harbour Lights at the Maine Boatbuilders show this year. Carl and Lynn Welshman are a husband and wife team who decided to bring a bit of sparkle to boaters. They came up with an idea to marry standard nautical charts with flashing LED's. These LED's are placed in the correct locations for buoys and other lighted Nav aids. They flash the sequence of the actual light aid.

 

They make these charts large and small. They sure did draw a crowd and they did me. They are unique, cheerful and surprisingly well done.

 

We interviewed Carl who, along with wife Lynn, makes and personally delivers these nautical chart works of art.
